Chloe Hurn's dance journey began at the age of seven. Starting at the esteemed Terry Simpson Studios in Adelaide, her unwavering passion and dedication soon propelled her to become an affiliated student at the prestigious Tanya Pearson Academy in Sydney. There, she not only honed her skills but also earned the prestigious Australian Classical and Contemporary Scholarship. As the ambassador for the Friends of the Australian Ballet SA, Chloe showcased her dedication to dance.
In 2022, Chloe's talent took her to new heights as she competed in the Brisbane International Contemporary Grand Prix, impressing judges and earning direct entry into the world-renowned Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance in London. The Rambert Ballet School is ranked in the top 5 Ballet/Contemporary schools in the world and Chloe was one of only 11 international dancers offered a placement in 2022.
Eager to pursue her dreams, Chloe made the bold decision to accelerate her secondary studies, completing them in Adelaide two years ahead of schedule to seize the chance to study at Rambert. In 2023, she commenced her studies at Rambert, immersing herself in a world-renowned dance community and learning from esteemed teachers and artists. Her acceptance into Rambert, one of the top five institutions of its kind globally, was a testament to her exceptional skill and dedication.
Now, having completed nearly a year at Rambert, Chloe reflects on the invaluable experiences she's gained. From mastering classical techniques to delving into avant-garde styles like Cunningham and Graham, her education has been comprehensive and transformative.
Chloe's dedication has not gone unnoticed; in 2024, she was honoured with the Rambert School Prize, a testament to her growth and potential as a dancer.
Looking ahead, Chloe is excited for her second year of study, where she aims to forge connections across the UK and Europe, setting the stage for a future career in dance. She envisions gracing the most renowned theaters in the world with her artistry and plans to bring her knowledge and experiences back to her roots in South Australia, inspiring the next generation of dancers.
Chloe's journey is not without its challenges, and she acknowledges the support of her donors in helping her realise her dreams. Through fundraising efforts with the Australian Cultural Fund, Chloe aims to secure the funds necessary to continue her studies at Rambert, ensuring that she can reach her full potential as a dancer.
With boundless passion, unwavering dedication, and the support of her community, Chloe Hurn is poised to make an indelible mark on the world of dance, one graceful step at a time.
